Booking Terms & Conditions

Booking Conditions

All bookings—regardless of how they are made—are subject to acceptance of these terms and conditions. If, upon arrival, we deem you or any member of your party does not comply with these terms, we reserve the right to refuse your booking without refund.

Pitch Sizes & Accuracy

Please ensure that all measurements you provide are accurate, as pitches are allocated based on size, and each of our pitches has different dimensions. It is your responsibility to give the correct measurements, including any awnings, porches, or additional structures.

Tent pitches are allocated according to the full dimensions of your tent (length and width, in metres). For example, a 7.5-metre tent will not fit on a 6-metre pitch.

If you arrive with a tent that is larger than the pitch you have booked and we are unable to offer a suitable alternative, you will not be permitted to stay, and no refund will be issued.

If you arrive in a unit that we deem unsuitable for camping, you will not be permitted to stay, and no refund will be issued

Payments

  • A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking:
    • £25 for standard bookings
    • £75 for rentals
    • £100 for Shepherd’s Hut bookings
    • For bookings over £310, a 10% deposit applies.
  • Full payment is due 7 days prior to arrival. If not received, your booking may be cancelled.
  • Payment can be made online or over the phone by card.
  • During peak times, minimum night stays may apply. No refunds are given for unused nights or early departures. Please refer to our Holiday Cancellation Policy and consider taking out travel insurance.

Pricing & Additional Charges

Prices are based on:

  • One unit (caravan, motorhome, campervan, trailer tent, tent box or tent)
  • One awning
  • One car
  • Two people (two adults or one adult and one child)

Additional charges apply for extra people, pets, vehicles, or equipment. See our Tariff for details.

Liability

All property is left at your own risk. Laneside Caravan Park is not responsible for damage to—or theft from—caravans, tents, or vehicles on site.

Site Use

Laneside Caravan Park is for recreational use only. Running a business, working from site (including giving driving lessons), or advertising goods/services is not permitted without prior written consent.

Arrival Times

  • Touring pitches: from 12:30 PM
  • Rental units: from 2:00 PM
  • Latest arrival: by 8:00 PM

Arrivals after 8:00 PM will be denied entry, as barrier codes deactivate at that time.

When you arrive:

  1. Enter using your code.
  2. Stop at the Arrival Hut at the end of the drive.
  3. A staff member will greet you and guide you to your pitch.

Outside of busy periods, please check in at Reception.

Note: Your barrier code will only be active after 11:30 AM on the day of arrival unless arranged in advance.

Late Arrival Procedure

If you’ve informed us of a late arrival (after Reception closes), we’ll leave a welcome envelope in the Arrival Hut. It will include:

  • Your pitch number
  • A site map
  • A pitching ticket

Please arrive quietly and set up respectfully.

Departure

Touring pitches: vacate by 11:30 AM

Rental units: vacate by 10:30 AM

For touring pitch customers, we offer Late Departure (until 5:00 PM) for £10, subject to pitch availability. This must be arranged at Reception on the morning of departure and is not available on Fridays or Saturdays.

Security Barriers

Barriers operate daily from 6:30 AM to midnight.

  • Your personal barrier code is included in your booking confirmation.
  • The code is unique and cannot be used for visitors.
  • Visitors must check in at Reception and receive a separate code (visitor and parking charges apply).
  • Outside of operating hours (midnight to 6:30 AM), no vehicle access is permitted.
    • Emergency services have contingency access.
    • Guests attempting entry will need to park across the road and enter on foot quietly.

Our wardens patrol nightly to monitor site safety and ensure quiet hours are respected.

Visitors

All day visitors must report to Reception upon arrival.

  • Visitor fees:
    • £3.00 per adult
    • £2.00 per child
    • £6.50 car parking
  • Parking and entry are at the management’s discretion.
  • Visitor vehicles must be parked in the visitor car park and registered at Reception.

Pitch Requests

We do not offer pitch selection via online bookings. If you have a specific pitch request, please add a note to your online booking or call us. We will do our best to accommodate you, but we reserve the right to change your pitch at any time for operational reasons.

Loyalty Scheme

Stay three or more consecutive midweek nights (Monday–Thursday) to earn a stamp on your Loyalty Card. Collect six stamps to receive a free three-night midweek stay (Monday–Thursday).

  • Not valid during Bank Holiday periods.
  • Can be used alongside a longer stay (e.g. Friday–Friday), with only the remaining nights charged.

Linked Weekends

Linked weekends are available during Low Season only and are not permitted on Fully Serviced Pitches. They are available on selected hard-standing and grass pitches.

Pricing for linked weekends includes the standard tariff rate for Friday and Saturday nights, plus an additional charge of £50,00 for the linked week in between. Additional nights are charged at the standard tariff rate.

Linked weekend stays are limited to a maximum of 3 consecutive weekends (16 nights total). These bookings must be made by phone or in person at Reception—they are not available to book online.

You may leave awnings up between stays, but ground sheets must be removed.

Group Bookings

We permit a maximum of 2 units per group. If more than 2 units are found to be part of a group on site—even if booked separately—this is considered a breach of our booking terms. We reserve the right to ask any or all members of the group to leave immediately without a refund.

Unit Occupancy

Each pitch may accommodate up to 6 people unless agreed otherwise in advance. Every unit booked must include at least one guest aged 21 or older.

Small Tent Pitches

Our 3-metre small tent pitches located on ‘The Shelf’ do not have vehicle access. If you require parking next to your pitch, please indicate this when booking online or call us for guidance.

Pets

We welcome well-behaved pets and hope they enjoy their stay.

  • To ensure the safety and comfort of all guests we kindly ask pet owners to adhere to the following guidelines:
  • Dogs must be kept on a lead no longer than 2 metres and under control at all times.
  • Pets (except assistance dogs) are not permitted in the toilet blocks or other shared facilities.
  • Owners must clean up after their pets and ensure they do not cause a disturbance.
  • A maximum of two dogs is permitted per unit. If you are unsure whether your dog meets our site guidelines, please contact us before booking. If your dog is a breed listed under the banned breeds legislation, you must notify us in advance and provide all relevant exemption documentation.
  • Dogs must not be left unattended in units at any time. If your pet becomes a nuisance or causes concern to other guests, we may ask you to remove them from the site.
  • Pets are not permitted on the recreation areas or the sports field.
  • Despite our best efforts, the dog walk area is not fully escape-proof, so please always supervise your pets.

Ursula (rental caravan) is pet-free.

Fireworks

Fireworks are strictly prohibited across all areas of Laneside Caravan Park, due to the proximity of other guests and nearby livestock.

Continental/Left-Hand Door Units

We welcome Continental-units (those with habitation doors on the left-hand side when viewed from the front of the unit). However, due to the layout of our pitches, these units must be sited on either a hard-standing or fully serviced pitch. We have a very limited number of grass electric pitches that can accommodate continental layouts. To ensure a safe and convenient setup, please inform us at the time of booking if you have a Continental unit. Where possible, we will allocate a suitable pitch—this may involve driving onto the pitch or using a non-standard orientation.

Duke Of Edinburgh (D of E) Groups

DofE groups are not permitted during High Season. To enquire about a DofE stay in Low Season, please contact us by phone or email.

Rallies

We are unable to accommodate rallies during High Season. In Low Season, discounts are available for rallies of 10 or more units. Please visit our Rally page or contact us for more information.

Self-Catering Accommodation

All units include bedding and towels.

Guests in our caravans are required to empty the cassette toilet and wastewater before departure.

Showers inside the caravans must not be used—please use our on-site facilities.

A deposit is required for all bookings; £75 for the caravans and £100 for the Shepherd Hut. The balance is then due 7 days prior to arrival.

Check-in is from 2:00 PM and check-out is by 10:30 AM.

On arrival a £50 cash security deposit is required. This will be refunded after we have conducted our departure inspection.

No smoking or EV charging is permitted.

Noise & Music – Quiet Time Policy

Laneside Caravan Park is a peaceful place where guests come to relax and unwind, so we kindly ask everyone to help keep the site quiet—especially in the evenings.

To maintain this calm atmosphere:

  • Please don’t play outdoor music at any time.
  • All noise, including music and loud voices, should be kept to an absolute minimum after 10:30 PM.

Our wardens do a gentle walk around the park at this time to make sure everything is settled for the night.

If there are any disturbances after 10:30 PM, we may need to ask those responsible to leave, without refund. In serious cases, we may need to involve the police—but we hope it never comes to that.

Thank you for helping us keep Laneside a restful and enjoyable place for everyone.

Weekend Bookings

Single-night bookings are not permitted at weekends. All weekend stays must be for a minimum of two nights and must include a Saturday night. Please note: The walker-on-foot rate does not apply during High Season weekends.

Cycling & Ball Games

Bicycles, scooters, and other self-propelled or battery-operated devices are welcome but must be used at walking pace only. For safety, they are not allowed near the Holiday Home field or the toilet facilities.

Ball games are not permitted on site to prevent damage to caravans and tents. A designated football field is available for all types of games, ensuring play does not disturb other guests.

Please do not follow the river past ‘The Shelf’ into the Holiday Home field.

Gazebos, Event Shelters & Pup Tents

Event shelters are preferred over gazebos due to their stability in windy conditions. All shelters must fit within your allocated pitch, not extend onto other pitches, and are only allowed on grass electric pitches. To this end the maximum size allowed on site is 2.5m x 2.5m. Charges apply as per our current tariff.

We reserve the right to request the removal of any gazebo or shelter being misused, including causing noise disturbances after 10:30pm.

Pup tents (up to 2 metres long) may be used for storage or pets. In exceptional cases and with prior agreement, they may be used for sleeping (maximum of two people, one of whom must be 21+). Charges apply per the tariff.

Electricity

Electric hook-ups are intended for low wattage camping and caravan equipment only. Household appliances, electric awning heaters, hookup-splitting devices, and EV charging are not permitted and will trip the supply.

Electric vehicle charging is not allowed on-site. Please use the village car park charging stations.

Generators are not permitted.

Barbecues & Fires

Open ground fires are not allowed. Purpose-built barbecues are welcome if raised off the ground—bricks are available from the Reception.

If you add wood, ensure the fire is small, safe, and well-managed, with no large flames or flying embers. A large water supply must be kept nearby. All fires must be fully extinguished by 10:30pm.

Never take a barbecue into your tent or caravan due to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Offers & Discounts

Only one offer or discount can be applied per booking.

If you have a discount code, please enter it at the time of booking.

For manual discounts—such as Blue Light Card holders or guests aged 65 and over—please add a note when booking online and pay the deposit only. We’ll apply the discount before your final balance is due.

If you’re booking within 7 days of arrival, please call us directly so we can make sure any eligible discount is applied correctly.

By signing up to receive our monthly newsletter you will receive all the current discount codes.

GIFT VOUCHERS

Looking for a gift? We offer vouchers in £15, £20, and £25 denominations. Purchase online, by phone, or in person.

Winter Opening

If a prolonged hard frost is forecast, we will close the on-site facilities and shut off taps. The site remains open, but guests will need to use their own facilities. Bottled water will be available to buy, and we will apply a discount to affected bookings.

Christmas & New Year Bookings

During the festive period, a minimum stay of four nights is required. Please refer to the tariff for specific dates.: There are no arrivals permitted on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.

Holiday Cancellation Policy
