It's a cliché, but there is something for everyone. There's the great outdoors: you could stay here a month, leaving your car on the park without exhausting the myriad footpaths that can be accessed from here - from a 30 minute walk to Castleton to as much as The Pennine way as you fancy. On the other hand you could take a 5-minute walk to the local pubs or the Chinese restaurant. Or, for the seriously athletically challenged, sit out on your pitch and watch the sun go down on Lose Hill - wine & pizza optional… Shopping? - See below, but note: There's a large car boot every Sunday in the village and a book stall in the office where we are raising money to send a cow to a poor African family. (www.sendacow.org.uk) - It operates on a bring-and-buy sale basis and if you have unwanted books that you would like to donate please bring them along.
