Wi Fi Update 4th April 2017

We are extremely disappointed to inform our customers that a further 5 week delay has been announced today. The line provider (any guess who that could be?!) have informed our installers that it will not be completed before mid May 2017. As you can imagine we are very ticked off! We would like to clarify with our customers that Laneside has not played any part in this delay. We have installed all our internal cables and put the infrastructure in place to go live. The only thing we are missing is the leased line its self. Anyone visiting Laneside before the end May 2017 please be aware that a wifi signal can not be guaranteed. We are running off a domestic broadband which can not cope with demand when we are busy. During quitter times when the demand is less you can connect. Some of the pubs and cafe’s in the village have free Wi Fi for those who desperately need access and there is a 4G signal to site. We will keep you all posted.   😡

Winter Projects 2016/17

Another busy winter at Laneside and we have had lots of projects on the go. One of the main tasks was to install a reliable Wifi system which we are pleased to announce is in hand. We are hoping to get everything up and running for the start of the season but we are still waiting for the fibre optic cable to be installed. Unfortunately, our line provider has still not given us a firm date for this. However, we are still going ahead with the provisions needed; so as soon as this is installed we can go live with the system. The boys have been busy digging trenches and laying the cable throughout the site so all corners of the park should receive a good signal. This has been an expensive project so there will now be a charge for wifi. The login and payment system has been simplified to ensure ease of access. You will be able to connect from the comfort of your caravan instead of having to purchase vouchers in the office. Simply open your web browser and you will be directed to the log-in portal. To maintain a good quality of service we will be implementing a ‘fair use policy’ to ensure all users can have a fair share of data use. More information on this and the wifi tariff will be available soon.

The boiler room has had a complete re vamp and extension. A new large tank has been housed in the ‘tank room’ shown in the picture above. As well as new boilers and pumps. This is in preparation for the planned shower extension and toilet block update, which is due to go ahead in the next couple of years.

We have carried on the block paving in the Noe Field adding 4 more fully serviced pitches. As well as upgrading the two tent pitches next to the boules court into hard standing.

Goodbye Janice & Martin

After 5 amazing years with our wonderful wardens, Janice & Martin, they will be retiring at the end of this season. It will be a very sad day today as customers and our family say ‘farewell’ to Aunty Janice, Uncle Martin and their 2 dogs Tilly and Maddy. They have transformed Laneside with their hard work and diligence and we are so grateful for all their advice and guidance. We will remain very close friends and our loss is Filey’s gain. Lots of luck and best wishes for your retirement by the sea!

Happy New Year!

2015 is upon us and all on site is going well. Joris, Ian and Bella the dog have been filling up gabion cages by the river for the past 6 weeks and the end is in sight. It takes a lot of work at the end of the season to keep on top of our river defences and the boys have done a brilliant job. Next on the to-do list is to dig a big trench at the back of F row for new electric equipment. Let’s hope the weather stays fine for them. We hope your all had a fantastic Christmas and New Year. Only 9 weeks till opening day!

March 14th OPENING DAY!

We are now open for the season, whoop whoop! All of our seasonal caravanners have been coming out in force to get their van out and back onto their pitches ready for the season to come. There’s always such a brilliant atmosphere on opening weekend with people saying hello to friends they haven’t seen all winter. It’s also the first glance for a lot of them at the boy’s hard work over the off season. And this year, due to the fab weather we have been having this week, we have had lots of caravans and motor homes coming out for the weekend too!

 February 2014

Despite the constant wet weather this month and with the ground soggy and very wet, the boys have managed to carry on with the serviced pitch improvements. The soil is now settling into the all-weather awning plot as well as on the “garden” plots. They have also started on the gabions by putting on the new welding ready for railings to go on. Not long to go now until we open, 4 weeks and counting!
